Brief Introduction

The Department of Economics is one of the oldest Departments in Manohar Memorial College which offers Economics as elective subject at Under-graduate Level and very recently it was introduced at the Post-Graduate Level also. The study of Economics provides an in-depth understanding of the working of economies of different countries of the world. It opens up vast lucrative employment opportunities for students, in govt. and non-govt. organisations as well as helps the students for preparing the civil and other competitions. It attracts quite a good number of students. The students of this Department show great participation in various inter-college competitions. The faculty consists of dedicated and experienced teachers.

Academic / Extracurricular Activities

The Department of Economics organises Seminars, Extension Lecturers and other Programmes every year to enhance academic and literary interest of the students. Three students of M.A. (Economics) have cleared the NET Examinations conducted by U.G.C. in 2010-11.
