Brief Introduction

The Department of Sanskrit is one of the oldest Departments in Manohar Memorial College which offers Sanskrit as elective subject at Under-graduate Level also B.A.(Hons.) in Sanskrit. Besides, B.Sc. II students also offer Sanskrit as a qualifying subject. Sanskrit, being a classical language, attracts few but genuinely interested students. The students of this Department show great participation in various inter-college competitions including Sanskrit Debate, Poetry Recitations and Sanskrit Drama competitions. The Department is headed by Dr. Kamla Devi who has participated in many Seminars and published a number of books.

Academic / Extracurricular Activities

The Department of Sanskrit organises Seminars, Extension Lecturers and other Programmes every year to enhance academic and literary interest of the students.
