Brief Introduction

Physical Education is an integral part of education that provides ample opportunities for developing physical and mental health, positive personality traits and human values. The department provides sports facilities to all the students admitted to the college. It helps outstanding sports boys and girls to excel in their respective sports disciplines and grooms them to participate at University level, State level and National level. It encourages mass participation through wide spread college sports activities. College level sports meet is organised every year for fresher’s participations.  Sports facilities are provided for Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Cricket, Athletics, Cross country, Football, Kabaddi, wrestling, Hockey, chess and Basketball etc. From the two/three years, the Department of Physical Education introduced Physical Education as a discipline course option in B.A. programme.

Academic / Extracurricular Activities

Wrestling Championship of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa was held in Manohar Memorial College on November 8, 2011. In the wrestling Champion ship our college got overall championship securing 6 Gold medals and two Silver Medals in bouts of wrestlers of different kg weights.

* In 50 Kg. weight Sandeep Kumar of B.A.II (Roll No. 2215) got Silver Medal. In final he was defeated by Rajbir of I.G. College, Tohana.

* In 55 Kg. weight Anil Rathee of Diploma in Fashion Designing (Roll No. 10054) got Gold Medal by defeating Anil of U.T.D. Sirsa.

* In 60 Kg. Weight Parveen Kumar of B.A.II (Roll No. 2216) secured Gold Medal by defeating Niranjan of U.T.D. Sirsa. Earlier he got Bronze Medal in World Championship.

* Bhagat Singh of Diploma in Fashion Designing (Roll No. 10053) got Silver Medal, who was defeated by Amar Pal of Shah Satnam Ji Boys College, Sirsa in 66 Kg. weight.

* In 74 Kg. Weight Subhash Chander of B.A.III (Roll No. 2638) got Bronze Medal.

* Ram Diya of B.A.I (Roll No.3576) got Gold Medal by defeating Pradeep of U.T.D. Sirsa in 84 Kg. weight.

* In 96 Kg. weight Krishan Kumar of B.A.III (Roll No. 2588) got Gold Medal by defeating Narender of Govt. College, Sirsa.

* Ashish Kumar of Fashion Designing (Roll No. 10051) secured Gold Medal in 120 Kg. weight.

Manohar Memorial College organized Inter College Athletic Meet of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa on December 2-3, 2011 in which Anil Kumar of our college was declared best Athlete
